Skyler King is a recent graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing and Management & Human Resources. He first got his interest in business as a high school student at Mount Horeb High School. There, he took every business class offered by the business department, and was actively involved in DECA: a student organization whose focus was on developing business leaders through conferences and competition. Skyler eventually went on to serve as a chapter officer and the chapter's president his senior year.
As a senior in high school, Skyler began a marketing internship at JG Development that lasted through the end of the summer. JG Development was a corporate partner for the high school's DECA chapter under Skyler's tenure, and the job opening and offer aligned perfectly with Skyler's schedule and career goals; it was an easy choice to say yes.
Throughout his undergraduate experience, Skyler has worked at a number of different companies, in a variety of different industries. Among them are JG Development and NCI-Roberts in a marketing capacity, CUNA Mutual Group in product development and compliance, Deer Valley Lodge and Golf in a supervisory role, and at The Employer Group as the Human Resources Intern.
During Skyler's first semester at UW-Madison he went on to join both Alpha Kappa Psi, a co-ed professional business fraternity, and Future Business Leaders of America. Both of which helped Skyler narrow his focus of study, expand on his professional development, and build on his leadership abilities. Skyler is still an active member of Alpha Kappa Psi, and is serving on the executive board.
